Nacido en la Ciudad de México en 1984, vocalista, guitarrista y compositor, Pablo Reyes es parte de la nueva generación de músicos innovadores de América Latina.
El viaje musical de Pablo comenzó en su natal Ciudad de México, donde estuvo expuesto a la música tradicional de su país, así como a la gran variedad de expresiones del folclor América Latina. A la edad de cinco años, vivió con su familia en Brasil, una experiencia que sin duda está integrada en su sensibilidad musical. Ciertamente, Pablo Reyes tiene la habilidad de expresar y transformar su profundo conocimiento de la música brasileña y latinoamericana como una herramienta creativa para escribir su música.
A la hora de componer, Reyes explora sus raíces musicales mexicanas además de destacar aquéllos folclóricos ritmos con un sonido de jazz contemporáneo. Es así como el artista, crea una fusión única que conduce a una nueva concepción de improvisación musical.
Con una extraordinaria creatividad sonora, Pablo Reyes no puede ser abarcado por una sola etiqueta musical. Con un enfoque vocal, y un gusto por la canción popular, este joven artista mexicano explora los terrenos de las “músicas del mundo”, al tiempo que incorpora elementos del jazz contemporáneo y el rock en su trabajo como compositor.
El resultado es un sonido orgánico y refrescante de maravillosos contrapuntos entre guitarra y voz, que experimentan con la energía rítmica de su país y que con altas dosis de lenguajes modernos, logran una propuesta de vanguardia.

Guitarist, vocalist and composer Pablo Reyes is considered one of the most inventive and passionate musicians within European and Latin American circles. His music explores connections between Latin American Folklore, Jazz and World Music.
Pablo’s musical journey began at home, in his native Mexico City, where he was exposed to Mexican folklore, as well as a variety of Latin American singer-songwriters. By the age of 5, he was living in Brazil with his family—an experience embedded in his musical sensibility. Undoubtedly, Pablo has gained the ability to express and transform his intimate knowledge of Brazilian music as a creative tool.
Pablo explores his Mexican musical roots while highlighting its rhythms with a contemporary world/jazz sound. Melding guitar and vocals, he crafts a wonderful counterpoint of energy. Thus, he creates a unique fusion where he incorporates Latin traditions into an avant-garde conception.

A graduate of the prestigious Jazz Program at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, he studied under the tutelage of Jesse Van Ruller (Thelonious Monk Award 1995). Pablo lived in the Netherlands between 2009 and 2013, where he additionally obtained a Master´s degree in World Music Studies at the Conservatory of Rotterdam CODARTS. During his Master’s degree program he did a 3-month Residency in Brazil, studying with Brazilian guitarist Chico Pinheiro. He has recently been invited to become an Artist in Residence at the CODARTS World Music Academy.

Reyes has toured Europe, North and South America performing at renowned international festivals and venues such as the Brussels Jazz Marathon 2013 in Belgium; II Semana Internacional de Jazz de Tenerife in Spain; Harmos Plural Festival in Porto, Portugal; The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, Korzo Theater in The Hague, Rasa World Music Theater in Utrecht, Tropen Theater Amsterdam, in the Netherlands; Jazz Nos Fundos in São Paulo Brazil; Jazz Mex Festival in Mexico City; FAOT Festival in Sonora, Mexico; Fonoteca Nacional and Museo Tamayo in Mexico City; among others.

Reyes has released 2 albums as a leader: “Hojarasca” (2012) and “Molino de Viento” (2013), both of them distributed in Mexico by Intolerancia Records and Worldwide trough Tunecore Digital Distribution, including iTunes, Spotify and many others…

Pablo has performed extensively through Europe and Latin America and his collaborations include international artists such as Sofia Rei, Celso Duarte, Benjamin Herman, Ramón Valle, Dean Bowman, Mamselle, Samira Dainan, Mohamed Ahadaff, Goran Kamil, and many more.
